Puyallup Real Estate Market Activity For March 2015 – By Puyallup Real Estate Agent Alain Picard

The Puyallup Real Estate Market continued in its accelerated pace for the month of March. The biggest increase in the Puyallup Real Estate Market for the month of March was in the Number of Pending Home Sales. There were about 264 Pending Home Sales for the month of March which was an increase of about 52% compared to the month prior and an increase of about 74% year over year. There were about 266 New Listings for the month of March which was an increase of about 40% compared to the month prior and an increase of about 17.5% year over year. The Average List Price for homes in Puyallup was about $294,623 which was about the same compared to the month prior and an increase of about 9% year over year. There were about 178 reported Sales of Homes in Puyallup for the month of March which was an increase of about 39% compared to the month prior and an increase of about 38% year over year. The Average Sales Price of Homes sold in Puyallup was about $265,909 for the month of March which was almost unchanged compared to the month prior and an increase of about 6.8% year over year. There is definitely a much larger number of buyers currently in the market this year than there has been for a while. I believe this to be the result of the low interest rates combined with high rents as well as the overall improvements in our economy. Lenders have also appeared to be more relaxed in qualifying buyers for mortgages. A lot of buyers are looking around at their current situations and realizing that it is cheaper for them to buy rather than rent. I believe this will be the trend for 2015 with more and more buyers taking the leap to home ownership.
